
What's in a name?

There are many many things that we are and should be grateful to our mums for but not always our name!
I am pretty sure most of us would like to called something a little conventional, if edging towards the very slightly unusual. Or something elegant and classic that everyone can spell - and more importantly pronounce.
As in everything, names are fashionable. In the 1930's the most popular names were Robert, James, William, Mary, Betty and Barbara.
In the 1960's this had changed to David, Michael, John, Mary, Susan and Lisa.
By 1980, Michael was still topping the list, in addtion to Christopher, Jason, Jennifer, Amanda and Jessica and now, the most popular names are ...
Oliver, Jack, Harry, Ruby, Olivia and Sophie.
